Staff Training

Every member of the Acorn care team will have a full 3 day induction prior to working in the community. You can be sure that your support workers are trained to work to high standard. Our Training Officer will ensure that support worker has completer all mandatory training. There is also on going support and training is updated yearly for also staff.

Mandatory Training Includes:

Safeguarding Adults
Basic Food Hygiene
Dementia Care
Fire Awareness
First Aid Awareness
Health & Safety
Infection Control
Manual Handling
Medication Awareness
Policies and Procedures
Equality & Diversity

Specialist Training will be provided as required. This may include:

Palliative Care
Catheter & Stoma Care

Continual Supervision

We aim to ensure that the service you recieve is of high quality at all times. We are dedicated to provide the required training and supervision for all staff. As well as training at our own on site training rooms within your home to support them specifically with your needs.

Spot Checks

Each support worker will receive unannounced spot checks throughout the year. This helps us to keep a check on the service that you are receiving, ensuring that quality care is provided at all times.
